planning and leadership. In Troop 254, the boys provide the planning and leadership
(with adult guidance). This takes some getting used to, especially when we adults think
we can run things more efficiently than the boys can, But remember, it takes practice to
learn anything, including leadership.
Troop 254 operates using the "patrol method." All scouts are assigned to a patrol. Each
patrol functions as an independent operating unit of the troop. They will elect a patrol
leader. A patrol advisor will work closely with the patrol leader in developing and
implementing a plan for the patrol.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any of our BSA trained adult leaders.
We look forward to getting to know you. We recommend that you begin today with your
Scouting adventure by reading chapter 1 in your Boy Scout Handbook and get started on
your trail to Eagle.
